Wrong Day

Phill took the message from John, as I was in the shower, and it's Thursday, not today, luckily I took a second look at the scrawl before I headed out!

So we had a lazy day, but the kids are outside again playing which is good, honestly for kids who spend 24/7 together they get along really well. Of course they fight but are devoted to each other mostly. So cute.

Okay looks like we're off to Dimboola! Phill thinks the job there will be an easier one (at his advanced age!) to see out the next fifteen years or so of his working life and I can't argue with that. The kids can, if they choose, go to school there, we'll be closer to Melbourne and Adelaide, where our dear friends Dot and Barry live (we miss seeing them), and also Kate told me last night that if we move to Dimboola she will think seriously of moving to Adelaide, as she visited there recently and fell in love with it. Don't blame her, I love Adelaide too. So now I'm kind of getting excited about it as Phill seems to think it's a done deal. Even if they won't give us a relocation package we will still go. There's a lot of crappy furniture we can leave behind to make the move cheaper, and Phill will get holiday pay when he ditches the Mickey Mice. (Even he calls them that now!) Check out Dimboola.

My spaghetti sauce smells divine, it's been slow cooking since I got up. I browned the mince and then added a small tin of tomato paste to cook off the raw taste of it, then put that into the cooker with a bottle of passata, some onion and garlic powder, Italian herbs, a bay leaf, Worcestershire sauce, a big glug of white wine and later I added some halved button mushrooms. Poor Phill won't be home in time to have some, but he can have a yummy lunch tomorrow. I got some garlic bread to have with it and will make a salad. I got the kids frozen pizza (I know but they hardly ever eat that crap) but found when I got home I couldn't fit the box in either freezer (we have two small fridges) so they had it for a late lunch, and can have toasted sandwiches later.

And what is it with Christmas in July? Is it just me? I have long dreamed of having a white Christmas just once in my life, but in Michigan or Canada, not in NSW. It's just silly. Silly I say. If you want to eat turkey in mid Winter, or even plum pudding, do it, but you don't need the silly hats and the unseasonal Christmas decorations.

Hmm Christmas in Dimboola it is for us now. And my 50th too. I wonder if my family and friends will travel all that way?

So, Dimboola is a done deal, or just a possibility at the moment?
